DESCRIPTION
Solid Jarrah Homestead Dinning Setting made from the timber from the "Old Bunbury Jetty" by Jah-Roc. The table is 2100 x 1180 - The Forms (Stools) x 2 are 1800 x 410. It is a truely beautiful piece of furniture and only for the serious buyer. It is a true "Heirloom" to be passed down over the years. It was origionally owned by "Braemar House" in Wa and is one of two. Jah-Roc are a Western Australian company that have won numerous awards for there fine craftmanship and are known worldwide. To see the work they do & there history, go to www.jahroc.com.au if you are interested. To see a photo of the Old Bunbury Jetty, go to: www.peoplesvoice.gov.au/stories/wa/bunbury/bunbury_c.htm The Old Bunbury jetty was built by convict labor in the 1800's & extended in 1905 -1907 & this "Homestead Setting" is made from the timber used to build it, so it has quite a history & the timber used is over 100 years old. The Boxing Day tidal waves (2004) created strong tidal changes to the Western Australian coast & although heritage listed, most of the remainder of the jetty broke away, therefore making furniture items made from the timber all the more valuable. The photo's enclosed don't do it the justice it deserves. It is a extremely heavy piece of furniture & very rustic in design. The table is in two sections: The top & then the frame & legs. The Forms (stools) have curved legs & are bench like. it has the Jah-Roc brand burnt into each piece & also dated "The Old Bunbury Jetty 1907" stamped on each section. The only reason we have this fine piece up for auction is that we are moving to smaller premises & much to our sadness it will not fit in. If you are after a very solid investment, then this is for you, it will only go up in value over the years. If you require further information, please email sandy_m1@westnet.com.au
