A tough young steeplechase jockey who's had a rough history and is nudging success strays upon blackmail and race rigging, taking on villains with true grit and photographic wizardry. Dick
Francis, former jockey for the Queen Mother turned to riding the
typewriter instead of jumpers in 1957, initially as racing
correspondent for the Sunday Express,
then as a novelist of rare talent. His stories are always set in the
racing world he loves so well, and involve some devilish schemes and
machinations. Always crafted with professionalism and always written in
the first person.
This is the twenty-first book that he published.

This
book is in fairly ordinary condition, well handled but still very readable. The cover is somewhat creased and slightly detached at the bottom but still sound. Spine is firm although edges are soiled. Pages are clean, if somewhat yellowed. None are missing or dog-eared.
