DESCRIPTION Please read the item description and check the images carefully to affirm what is and what is not included. Some images may occasionally include items used for a display purpose but not necessarily included in the auction.

Unless stated otherwise in the description a camera body is not supplied with lens, body cap, instruction book, box, case, strap, split-rings for strap, or batteries. A lens is not supplied with front or rear lens caps, filter, lenshood, box or case. A flash is not supplied with a case, box, diffuser, leads, batteries etc

Unlessstated to the contrary the images are of the actual item for auction/sale. I provide large size, high resolution images which are not retouched. The lighting is a fixed, standard arrangement which, due to time constraints, I do not vary from picture to picture. It is not designed to hide nor highlight any particular feature.

Many of the cameras, lenses and accessories which I offer for sale are over 20 years old and although many may be in superb cometic condition they may not necessarily operate as accurately as when they were new. I do not have mechanical/electronic test equipment so I cannot guarantee the operating condition though where possible I check that shutters fire at all speeds and 'sound' correct, that the meter is responsive and that lens diaphragms operate correctly. I have no way of ascertaining the accuracy of shutter speeds or light meter readings. I inspect all equipment as carefully as I can and describe to the best of my ability what I see with the naked eye. After all this I sell all camera equipment 'as-is'.

Most older camera lenses can be expected to have at least some internal dust particles or marks on the lenses, however insignificant. I endeavour to describe honestly and to the best of my ability what I see with the naked eye. Older lenses, and particularly those which may have been stored in a humid climate, are also prone to fungus growth. Sometimes it is easy to see and sometimes it is not. I will never deliberately avoid mentioning it if I see it. Oil on the diaphragm is fairly easy to see and causes it to stick or operate sluggishly. I always check for the presence of oil and for the smooth operation of the diaphragm.

Many older cameras commonly display deterioration of the light seals and (for SLR's) the mirror damper. Whilst not necessarily of importance to a collector it may be important to a user. Cameras are sold as is and may not necessarily have effective seals/damper unless otherwise stated in the description.

RATINGS I am dispensing with a ratings system as they tend to be overly vague or aim for an unrealistic level of precision. For example, whilst I may consider a certain item to be a 9 or Mint-, someone else might consider it an 8.5 or Exc++. This makes the rating meaningless and can lead to misunderstandings. Thus I try to describe items to give a fair and reasonable interpretation of their condition and I display sharp, well-lit, clear images to clearly show detail.

NEW!Whilst a number of existing listings may still mention a rating, any new listings from April 12 2006 will be 'rating-free'. If you are looking at a listing which still mentions a rating then kindly ignore the rating and read only the descriptive text to form your opinion as to it's relative condition.

BIDDING/BUYING Please do not bid for or buy any item if you are not prepared to pay as it represents a frustrating waste of time and money and prevents, or at least delays, a legitimate bidder or buyer from winning the item. Before you bid please be 100% sure it's what you want to do and that you have read all the text, read these terms carefully, checked the postage and looked closely at all the images. Remember that by bidding/buying you are entering into a contract and have a moral and legal obligation to proceed.

The following bids will not be accepted and I reserve the right to cancel such bids:

Bids from members whose Feedback rating is "PRIVATE".
Bids from members with less than 99% feedback rating.
Bids from members who have more Neutral or Negative than Positive Feedback.
Bids from Indonesia, Malaysia, most African nations especially Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Cameroon, Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and especially Romania, or those wanting shipment to those countries. The reason for this is due to the high fraud rate from those countries. It is a criminal issue and is unrelated to race, colour or religion

Bids from buyers with positive feedback less than 10 and 100% feedback rating without prior approval from me. If such a bidder/buyer as described above elects to buy or bid without my approval having first been obtained, and wins the item, I reserve the right to cancel the bid or sale and either relist the item, sell it elsewhere or withdraw it from sale notwithstanding other remedies or actions which may be taken as mentioned elsewhere in these conditions.

PAYMENT Once the auction ends, the winning bidder should make immediate payment. When making payment do not forget to add insurance for risk of loss or damage in transit. Checkout and payment must be completed within 24 hours of the close of auction/sale.

NON PAYMENT Please do not bid for or buy any item if you are not prepared to pay as it represents a frustrating waste of time and money and prevents, or delays, a legitimate bidder or buyer from winning the item. If I do not receive payment or hear from the winning bidder or buyer within 24 hours I reserve the right to cancel the bid or sale and to sell to the next highest bidder, relist the item, withdraw it from sale or sell elsewhere or to any other person at my discretion. A non-paying bidder risks an unpaid item strike, appropriate feedback, and blocking from future bidding or buying.

SHIPPING Shipping charges include handling and packaging costs and I take great care to provide excellent packaging, including shrink-wrapping in most cases. Often boxes or postage bags have to be bought as do packaging tape, shrink-wrap, bubble wrap, filler, felt markers etc. Consider also the cost of fuel to and from the post office and the time it takes for packaging, completing shipping documentation and return trips to the post office. The minimum packaging/handling charge is A$2; the average is A$6-A$8 and some items may be more. Allow for these charges when bidding/buying and if you are not happy with the shipping/handling/packaging cost then please exercise your right not to bid or buy.

For local buyers pickup is not an option. There are numerous reasons for this policy and you can read through the community forum to get an idea of why sellers say no.

RETURNS

All items are sold AS IS. Returns are accepted ONLY if the item is significantly not as described. Buyer must email me to initiate a return within 24 hours of receiving the item. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. Returned items must be well packed and in the condition received.

If a buyer feels I have significantly mis-described an item I ask that firstly the buyer reads the listing again, looks carefully at the images and then carefully reads these terms. If the buyer still feels the item is mis-described and I also agree then I will offer a 100% refund including the original shipping charge. If mutual agreement cannot be reached then the buyer should lodge a report with AussieBid. The refund, if any, will be paid only to the buyer's Paypal account. The buyer must ensure the mis-described item is sent back to me and received by me, in it's original packaging and in good condition, within 5 days.

If a return is mutually agreed for any other reason a credit for alternative merchandise will apply for the full purchase amount less a 15% re-stocking fee or $10 whichever is the higher and less shipping charges. Alternative merchandise must be selected within 5 days. A cash refund is not an option.

PACKING The majority of my items are carefully detailed in preparation for sale and then shrinkwrapped. I pack everything very securely and have never had an item damaged in the post. But insurance is nevertheless highly urged. See below.

INSURANCE Once I have shipped the goods the responsibility rests with Australia Post for delivery to you. I cannot be responsible for any items lost or damaged in the mail, or undelivered. However, in such an event I will do all I can to assist in recovery/claiming insurance etc. I always keep postage receipts. Insurance is available as an option and I strongly urge all buyers to insure their items. I reserve the right to insist on insurance being paid before shipping items.

LEGAL I have used my best efforts to inspect the item for sale, create descriptions and provide images that fairly and adequately depict the type and condition of the item. I make no express or implied warranties or representations regarding the condition or suitability of the item and to the extent allowed by law specifically disclaim any express or implied warranties including but not limited to any warranty of merchantability or fitness for purpose.

COMBINED SHIPPING For BUY IT NOW items only, at my option, and provided subsequent buys are made within 1 hour, I will ship several items in one shipping package. I do not combine shipping for auction items.

The amount of discount may vary between 20-70% of the displayed shipping price. On average it is around 50%. Don't forget that the shipping charge is not merely for postage.

Are lens caps included?
What is described in the description and shown in the photos is exactly what is included. Nothing more, nothing less.

Do you end auctions early?
No, in fairness to other bidders all auctions go for the full duration.

What will my shipping and handling fees be?
All listings display the shipping and insurance charges.

Can you ship outside Australia?
Sure, I ship to most countries but please email me first. I only accept Paypal for international sales.

Can you send me additional photos of the item?
As soon as photos have been taken the items are shrink-sealed and often packaged ready for shipping. Time constraints do not allow for a repeat procedure.

What does "Sold As Is" mean?
All my camera equipment is sold 'as-is'. Since I do not have the experience or the electronic testing equipment used by camera repair technicians I cannot fully test every function to affirm it's accuracy. As yet I have never had an item returned.

I live locally. Can I pick it up from you?
No. Consider the security risk for me. Consider also the constraints of time I would have to restrict myself to in remaining home waiting for a buyer to show up, and this in an effort to save the buyer a few dollars. There are many other reasons for this policy and you can read through the community forum to get an idea of why most sellers say no.

I have not received an invoice for the item.
After you win an auction or a Buy It Now, eBay will automatically send you email. Spam guards may prevent that email from reaching you so please make sure your email filters are not blocking these messages from eBay.
