Douglas Reed was an English journalist living in Vienna during the tumultuous events preceding the anschluss with Nazi Germany.
An eyewitness account of how a civilized nation
descended into depths of bestiality never before plumbed by humankind.
The publishers could easily have edited the chapters on Austria to recognize changes
already evident, but at the cost of the first-hand
perspective by the author, so the chapter was allowed to stand as written. The reader is
therefore treated to an insight to the sound predictions, based on the on-the-spot experience of a journalist at ground zero.

pages. No corners have been turned in and paper is clean, crisp and
unmarked except for a small stamp on inside
cover as well as a small sticker. Spine is firm, cover unmarked and edges undamaged, but without a dust jacket.
